Love last only until it’s nurtured then it evaporates

I wish somebody taught me more about financial literacy. Growing up, it was always something only the men in the household talked about. Why?

I’m a mother yes. But that doesn’t mean I’m not a person too. I have emotions and feelings of my own. I have dreams and needs too.And no its definitely not what you think it is. So no electronic appliance gift or things I don’t need. But a day with no “Mama, I want” a hot cuppa and a hot meal with no interruptions and a blissful nap without a jumping, kicking child or scream.

For all the husband your wife isn’t a maid looking after your kids, home and you.She is a person just like you. What she does 24×7 365 days is never acknowledged, or paid or gets an increment or reward unlike you. She doesn’t get to switch off outside working hours. So take care of your things, keep things back in place, tackle chores like washing utensils, putting toys back, read a book to your child then just chillin.

Sometimes I feel like talking to a male, is like training a dog, it’s exhausting. But then again maybe it’s my patience.

When will people understand that the topic of having children is so sensitive and personal? Stop asking women and couples about their plans to have kids. No one knows what they are going through and the difficulties they have. It’s none of your business. Period.

What women must learn at school/uni or from their parents growing up, in my honest opinion :) :- Financial independence- How a woman’s body works & sex ed.- Confidence and strength to be whoever they want to be and persue their dreams no matter how big they are.- Emotional freedom: it is okay to feel down, to express yourself, to cry, to have off days, to always say what is on your mind, etc…We are all on this journey together – you are not alone! <3

Parents should treat their children equally no matter their gender. Coming from a traditional family, my sister and I always felt treated differently from our brothers when it comes to finances and we were never told truthfully about how things work in our family. Today, my mother relentlessly fights for this and makes sure we are treated equally – I love and admire her for this.

Men take for granted how lucky they are to not have to worry about walking outside on their own at night. For us, it’s something we have to factor in and think about. “Is it safe to walk down that road at this hour?” should I pretend to be on the phone?” “should I hold my keys in my hands just incase I get approached?”

Women that have gone through it should show compassion to someone starting the journey. Instead of hearing ‘oh we have all gone through it’!
