We don’t talk enough about the lows and hardships that come with motherhood. In our society we often glamorize motherhood that it’s this amazing feeling and bond and how connected you’ll feel to your children. Not all women feel this way, not always and not immediately either. It takes time for our bodies to heal physically and also mentally understand what just happened especially as a first time mom. There’s so much support around pregnancy & giving birth but once you pop that baby out, poof you’re alone to figure it out. Especially as an expat it’s really hard. It truly takes a ‘village’ and its okay if you dont have your village, you will figure it out and you will make it work. We need to be kinder to ourselves.
